Village Interviews: Abou Chiabi

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11
7:30 PM EST
MNN (Channel 67)

Dear Friends :

This Wednesday, March 11th at 7:30 PM, I am re-airing a half-hour program of a father-son team of musicians I recorded in Paris in 2002 on my little cable show Famousx2. Both of them are named Abou Chiabi; the father is from the Comorro Islands, and the son is from Paris. These guys are exceptionally good musicians and one day may hit in NYC; one never knows. And there is something for almost everyone here: in half an hour, you will hear French, English, Spanish and Comorro langauges , and you will hear political songs, jazz, African songs, fusion and avant garde. It is definitely worth setting your VCR or any recording devices you may have on your computer. I promise you will be humming these songs for a long time. And the sound quality is very good.

If you are in Manhattan and have access to Time Warner, you can see it this Wednesday March 11th, at 7:30 pm (DST-that's NYC Daylight Savings Time) on channel 67.On the RCN system, that should be channel 85.

If you are outside of Manhattan, anywhere in the world, and you have a good high-speed connection on your computer, you can go to MNN Whatsonnow (or MNN) and click on channel 67 to see it at the same time. Sometimes MNN does screw up broadcasts, but usually they air things without too many problems.....so be patient.
