My Anti-Cancer Treatments: Pomegranate

Pomegranates are a RED HOT delicious fruit that is high in ellagic acid, a polyphenol with potent antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-atherosclerotic properties:

Ellagic acid cancer treatment.

Punica granatum (pomegranate) and its potential for prevention and treatment of inflammation and cancer
(including lymphoma, colon, lung, prostate and breast cancers).

Pomegranate juice confirmed as miracle medicine for prostate cancer.

Pomegranate juice may help fight lung cancer.

Pomegranate seed oil causes breast cancer cells to self-destruct.

Pomegranate may also prevent and alleviate Alzheimer's:
Dr. Andrew Weill: 4 Reasons to Eat (or Drink) Pomegranates

Pomegranate ranked healthiest fruit juice.

I put whole slices of pomegranate (husk and all) into my veggie juices.

If you can't stand the taste of the husk, you can make capsules:
Pomegranates are harvested in California from late August until about
the middle of December. The husks are the best part of the
pomegranate because of the richness of their ellagitannins. The
fresh fruit is widely available during the season, but the price
starts to drop about this time of the year.

It is not necessary to go through the usual extraction process of
cleaning, percolating in water, blending, straining through
cheesecloth, extracting with an Amberlite XAD-16 resin column,
eluting with methanol, and rotavaping. It is far easier to just
section the husk into appox. 2 cm shards and sun dry. Oven drying at
low temperatures yields an overly dark and sticky product. After a
few days in the sun the pieces harden like weathered leather. I use
a Vitamix to quickly grind the hard chips to a powder for encapsulation.

I am increasingly teaching such methods in my seminars program at the
Del Mar, CA retreat center. The whole point is for you to wrest
control from those who would own your health and award this control
to a much more worthy beneficiary -- you.

My Anti-Cancer Treatments: The Budwig Diet

My breakfast this morning . . . .
The Budwig Diet - Flax Oil & Cottage Cheese

The Budwig Diet, which is very rich in omega 3 fatty acids, was created by six time Nobel Prize nominee Dr. Johanne Budwig as a cure and preventative for cancer and a whole bunch of other degenerative diseases including liver disease, heart disease, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's, ADHD, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraines, autoimmune disease and diabetes.

It is so powerfully healing that it is recommended as a Stage 4 cancer treatment by cancertutor dot com.

How I Make My FO/CC (Flax Oil/Cottage Cheese):
  • Combine one part organic cold-pressed flax oil to two or more parts organic cottage cheese (or quark made from raw milk) in a small bowl
  • Mix with an easy-to-clean immersion blender (I got this one at Walmart for $10) until the consistency of whipped cream
  • Stir in freshly ground flax seed (use a coffee grinder) to activate, and organic fruit to taste ~ I mix in some pineapple (for protein-digesting enzymes) with the immersion blender and top off with organic blueberries.
If you have cancer, or any other serious illness, you want to work your way up to eight tablespoons of flax oil per day.

Two tablespoons of flax oil per day is sufficient for prevention of cancer or disease.

The Budwig Diet for Vegans:
Use Companion Nutrients in place of cottage cheese.

The Budwig Diet for Raw Foodists:
Cottage Cheese Made From Raw Milk
Quark Made From Raw Milk

The Budwig Diet for: Beating Myeloma

The Budwig Diet for: Lymphoma and Bone Cancer

My Anti-Cancer Treatments: Getting Adequate Vitamin D in the Winter

I think that the best source of vitamin D is the sun because you cannot overdose on vitamin D that comes from the sun. In the winter months, I use a tanning bed once a week to keep my vitamin D levels at about 50 ng/mL's.

How much vitamin D do we need in the winter?
"I take 5,000 units a day in the winter but I know what my vitamin D level is because I get it checked several times a year. If I had cancer, heart disease, Alzheimers disease, multiple sclerosis, or a hundred other common diseases, I might take more than 5,000 units a day—but I would check my calcium and vitamin D levels even more often. I would also follow my doctor's advice about standard medical treatment.

Keep in mind that if you use a sunlamp or a tanning parlor once a week during the winter, you don't have to worry about blood tests because your body will maintain adequate vitamin D blood levels. Just don't get burned.

Also, remember to take calcium tablets if you don't get adequate amounts of calcium in your diet—and most people don't. Trader Joe's sells a good Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc combination product for next to nothing."

And I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the eyewear . . . .

Years of research now suggest that vitamin D may actively protect against several forms of cancer by inhibiting cancer cell growth, causing apoptosis, and even by inducing cellular re-differentiation-the conversion of cancers cells back to normal cells.

Great Art: Agneta Perrson Hats

Den skön Agneta Persson

Pia Sjolin, Agneta Persson, Dana Herbert

Handmade hats by Swedish designer Agneta Persson.

Available at Pia's and Janice's.

I love the basic black hat with the tassles (how cute are they?). Very simple and elegant, yet fun at the same time. You can tie them up in a bow, close to your head, or let them loose and they will hang half way down to your waist. It is called "The Propeller" . . . . just take a spin and you will see why.

I love the orange hat because it is pretty funky and also because it is the color of carrot juice, my favorite juiced drink.

I can also get really creative with the orange hat . . . . wear some thigh-high avocado green snow boots and wear my hair in pigtails . . . . lots and lots of possibilities there.

So . . . . I splurged. I bought them both today.

Winter is not so bad when you have some really great hats to go out in.

Tack så mycket Agneta!

Health Care: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Mother is held over 'mercy killing' of ME victim
Anna Davis
08.12.08

A POLICE worker's wife has been arrested on suspicion of the mercy-killing murder of the couple's seriously ill daughter.

Detectives are examining the exact circumstances of the death of 31-year-old Lynn Gilderdale, who died at her home in Stonegate, East Sussex, on Thursday.

Her 54-year-old mother Kay, who was also her full-time carer, was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Lynn's father Richard, who is separated from her mother, is an ex-police sergeant who still works for the police in a civilian role in Hastings.

Lynn was diagnosed with ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis) also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, in May 1992 and spent much of her life unable to leave bed, communicating with her family through sign language. Lynn's parents were united in grief this afternoon at the £400,000 bungalow where Mrs Gilderdale and her daughter lived. Speaking from the house Mr Gilderdale said: "We are grieving at the moment. This is a very difficult time for us. We would like to be left alone for now."

In an interview two years ago, Mrs Gilderdale revealed how doctors at a specialist clinic in London treated her daughter as an attention seeker with a made-up illness . . . . *

READ THE REST OF THIS SAD STORY HERE.

I wonder how much of Lynn's illness was caused by the health care industry - immune reactions to toxic metal dentistry in particular?

My Anti-Cancer Treatments: Broccoli

My breakfast this morning:
Lightly steamed (not cooked!) broccoli with sliced raw garlic
and squeezed lemon.

Broccoli is a very powerful anti-cancer food (it's right up there with carrot juice) that works against breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and even cancers of the organs like liver cancer.

It speeds up the removal of estrogen from the body (estrogen causes my migraines), regulates insulin and blood sugar, fights anemia, has as much calcium as milk, reduces cholesterol and has anti-viral and anti-ulcer activity . . . . so, it's just perfect for me!

Broccoli is great raw, but even healthier lightly steamed for 3-4 minutes (read the following article to see why) :

Maximizing the Anti-Cancer Power of Broccoli

Can Broccoli Juice Cure Cancer?

Broccoli Compound Targets Key Enzyme In Late-stage Cancer

(Very exciting read about benefits of broccoli in advanced breast and prostate cancers . . . . just published this week!)

My Favorite Broccoli Juice Recipe:
  • 3 or 4 broccoli florets
  • A little bit of the broccoli stalk
  • 3 carrots
  • ½ to 1 apple

Faux Painting: Ragrolled Bathroom

Bathroom I painted today, in a yummy warm color
called Roman Ochre:

Wearing my safety gloves . . . .
this is one of those rare occassions where I had to use oil/alkyd based paints.

I always recommend painting bathrooms in warm skin tones,
because as you can see, the warm skin tone colors will reflect onto
your own skin and your skin will look radiantly healthy.

Even (or maybe even especially) when you are nude . . . .

So . . . . a very sexy color for a bathroom with a hot tub.

My Anti-Cancer Treatments: Avocado

I happen to LOVE LOVE LOVE avocados . . . .

My two favorite sandwiches in the world are avocado and/or tomato sandwiches on sprouted bread with cayenne pepper, salt and pepper, and a little bit of spicy mustard.

I crave avocados.

Now researchers are saying that nutrients found in avocados may help combat oral cancer:

10 Health Benefits of Avocados

Avocados also contain glutathione, an important antioxidant for preventing cancer.

And did you know that an avocado is a fruit and not a vegetable?

Also, I think I may have just finally found the right dentist for me. A dentist who just told me that he eats about six avocados a day. He was eating avocado when I walked into his office. How cool is that?

He doesn't use nickel.

And my first visit with him was only $45 . . . . wholly guacamole!

Now that's what I'm talking about.

My Anti-Cancer Treatments: Cayenne Pepper

My saliva pH after eating a tomato with cayenne pepper today is
very alkaline at 7.4 -8.0 !
Yeess . . . .

Cayenne pepper and tomato are both alkalizing for the body, and we all know that cancer cannot survive or thrive in an alkaline environment.

Village Interviews: Izzy Young

What did the fly say to the flea?
Folklore Center is the place for me.
~ Bob Dylan

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10
7:30 PM
MNN Channel 67

Dear Friends :

The following can be viewed on any high-speed computer anywhere or on TV in Manhattan:

This Wednesday, September 10 at 7:30 PM, on my little cable program, Famousx2, on Channel 67, I am re-airing a half-hour program combining two interviews I did with Izzy Young in 1994 and 1999.

Izzy, who used to be known as "The Mayor of Greenwich Village", founded and ran the Folklore Center from the 1950s to the 1970s, first on MacDougal Street and then on 6th Avenue. The center was a combination music shop, performance space and mecca for everyone involved in the so-called folk-music scene of that era. Izzy organized Dylan's first official concert and conducted the first interview with Dylan back in 1961. Now, Izzy runs the Folklore Centrum in Stockholm, Sweden.

In this program, Izzy remembers Phil Ochs, perhaps the most politically active folk singer of his generation and a friend of folk singers all around the world, including Victor Jara, and Dylan and the folk club scene in the Village in the 1960s. This is a program that anyone interested in Ochs and/or Dylan should see. Izzy discusses Phil's drinking and inferiority complex in relation to Dylan, his obsession with making the charts and with the Kennedys. He talks about the famous Broadside interview he did with Ochs. He tells the story of the 1972 concert at Lincoln Center, which Izzy MC'd for Ochs, David Bromberg and Doc Watson (whose first NYC concert was organized by Izzy in 1961) and during which there were bad feelings between Watson and Ochs and between Izzy and Ochs. He also has many nice things to say about Phil's songs. Finally, Izzy gives his account of his first encounters with Dylan when he came to NYC the first time and how Dylan put one over on him in his first interview.

If you are in Manhattan and have access to Time Warner, you can see it this Wednesday January 26th, at 7:30pm (DST-that's NYC Daylight SavingsTime) on channel 67. On the RCN system, that should be channel 85.

If you are outside of Manhattan, anywhere in the world, and you have a good high-speed connection on your computer, you can go to MNN and click on channel 67 to see it at the same time.

Sometimes MNN does screw up broadcasts, but usually they air things without too many problems.....Be patient.

Recently, some of you outside of Manhattan have told me you have not been able to tune in by computer. Please let me know if this happens again, and I will give MNN a piece of my mind.

Best,
Jason Howard

Sebastian in the Morning: Professor Boyd Haley

Professor Boyd Haley, whom I had the great honor, privilege and pleasure of meeting at the Mercury Trials in New Britain in 2005, will be a guest on the Sebastian in the Morning radio show on WCCC 106.9 FM:

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th
at 8:20 a.m.

Dr. Haley, a biochemist at the University of Kentucky and one of the world's top experts in mercury toxicity, will be talking about the dangers of mercury vapor from dental fillings and thimerosal in vaccines, and the link between mercury and Alzheimer's disease, autism, and now, possibly even cancer (especially oral cancer and breast cancer).

If you live outside of Connecticut, you can tune in to WCCC 106.9 FM and listen online.

If you would like to go on the air to discuss this topic, the call in number is 860-525-WCCC.

Oral Cancer, Mercury and Periodontal Disease:
Mercury vapors in the mouth which spreads mercury to all points in the body, increased use of antibiotics, periodontal disease, inappropriate oral care, yeast and fungal overgrowth, and decreasing immune strength are all colliding and reinforcing each other in a downward spiral that leads to chronic diseases and cancer. Most people and even dentists are surprised to find out that more often than not this all starts out in the mouth.
Most of our cancer patients have
a lot of amalgam dental fillings.

Toxic Metals and Cancer: Carcinogenic Mercury Vapors Leach Endlessly and Profusely in Your Mouth : This just confirms, once again, how obsolete modern medicine is. The day you go to an oncologist's office and he or she asks you, after you have been diagnosed, if you have mercury fillings in your mouth, will be the day I will trust modern oncology once again. And if he recommends to take them out safely, then I will be impressed. By the way, there are oncologists nowadays who do these things. Just very few, though.

My Anti-Cancer Treatments: Garlic

"One must be very suspicious of anyone
who does not eat garlic."

Roman Proverb

The Benefits of Garlic in Cancer

National Cancer Institute: Garlic and Cancer Prevention
: Several population studies show an association between increased intake of garlic and reduced risk of certain cancers, including cancers of the stomach, colon, esophagus, pancreas, and breast (remember, this may be linked to nickel).

Nickel and mercury linked to breast cancer.

Nickel promotes breast cancer cell proliferation.

Life Extention Lymphoma Protocol
: Garlic extracts can induce death in lymphoma cells (Arditti FD et al 2005; Scharfenberg K et al 1990). Indeed, in a recent study, conjugation of a garlic extract to the antibody rituximab (which targets lymphoma cells) led to the death of these cells (Arditti FD et al 2005).
(Nickel also causes bone lymphoma, aka reticulum cell sarcoma).

Connecticut Center For Health: Benefits of Garlic: Antioxidant, Prevents Cancer, Antimicrobial (including Klebsiella pneumonia - also linked to nickel).

Garlic alkalizes the body, thins the blood, prevents blood clots, and destroys tumor cells.

Garlic chelates mercury.

Garlic contains germanium and selenium.

My Handwriting Analysis from the Dutchess County Fair reads:
  • Versatility is one of your outstanding traits.
  • You do not allow yourself to be intimidated by others.
  • You like to play an active part in life around you.
  • Your imagination runs away from you at times causing you to exaggerate.
  • People find you honest, conscientious, and trustworthy.
  • You become depressed if you don't make the progress you planned.
  • You are sensitive to the needs of others.
  • You have strong principles and stick to them faithfully.
  • Your bark is much worse than your bite.
  • You dislike rules - unless you make them yourself.
  • You love seeking new challenges.
My Horoscope from the Dutchess County Fair reads:

PISCES: Ruled by Neptune, the planet of mystery and illusion, the Pisces personality is elusive, changeable, and spiritual. They are not known to be practical, but can have a masterful understanding of abstract ideas. Each Pisces bears a stamp of uniqueness. Pisceans are very special people. They are loyal, unselfish, and always ready to help a friend who has fallen on hard times. They are not concerned with the superficial and what others see on the surface. Pisces looks at the inner soul. Fundamentally unsure of themselves, Pisceans prefer to work alone rather than with other people. They do better with creative endeavors than in the dog eat dog world of business. Humor is one of the Pisces' secret weapons. They are excellent practical jokers with the ability to keep a straight face while pulling someone's leg. They have a fine dramatic sense fueled by a powerful imagination. Pisces often have psychic connections with their children. Their compassion allows them to understand all the struggles and challenges of growing up.

PISCES IN THE NEW MILLENIUM: In the new millenium, you learn to bring your wisdom and intuition in line with your work and profession. Instead of keeping hunches and intuitions to yourself, you'll begin sharing them with other people. A 14-year spiritual expansion begins. You will know, at the very least, who you are and what you believe and where you are going. Most of us will not discover this much in a lifetime.

Wow. Pretty damn good . . . .
